TOP TALENT FOR BBCR1 LIVE LOUNGE

BBC Radio 1 has a host of top talent lined up for Live Lounge Month in September as the station celebrates 50 years on air. Expect performances from Jay-Z, Miley Cyrus, Harry Styles, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Lorde, Pink and Rag’n’Bone Man.

As part of the sessions, acts will perform a cover version of hits from anytime in the past 50 years. Alongside those mentioned above, others booked are The Killers, The xx, Craig David, Stormzy, George Ezra, Royal Blood, The Script, Rita Ora, 30 Seconds to Mars, Rudimental f/James Arthur, Wolf Alice, Foo Fighters and London Grammar.

The Foos will kick off proceedings with a performance in their L.A. studio on 9/1 for an extended Live Lounge Special. Fellow U.S. acts Pink, Miley and Jay-Z will also take part in extended sessions on the following Fridays.

The month will culminate in an evening concert that will be broadcast live on Radio 1, featuring a yet to be announced special guest. Could it be Ed Sheeran?

Clara Amfo
will host each Live Lounge during her weekday Radio 1 show 10am—1pm and videos will be available to watch on Radio 1’s BBC iPlayer channel.
