THE POP RADIO GLUT CONTINUES

As T40 Radio gets set to enjoy the best season of the year for the format, labels are locking and loading their bets for 2017 Song of the Summer.

And with three or four really big releases now hitting every Friday, the crunch has created a logjam at radio, making the battle for slots even more intense than it already is.

Three more notable releases are hitting 6/2, including a new single from SYCO/Epic’s Fifth Harmony, who are dropping “Down” featuring Gucci Mane and performing the song live on Good Morning America the same day it’s released. The single will officially impact Pop on 6/12, but Epic is encouraging airplay now, of course.

Republic’s Julia Michaels is readying the follow-up to her Top 10 hit “Issues” with a new single called “Uh Huh,” which drops Friday but doesn’t go for reports until 6/20.

And Mad Decent/in2une’s Major Lazer have released a surprise, 6-track EP called Know No Better and teamed up with Travis Scott, Quavo and Camila Cabello for the title track.

And that's just what we know about. Nicki Minaj just announced via Instagram that she will release another new single Friday; then there's those not-so-secret DJ Khaled collaborations with Rihanna, and Drake too, loaded in the chamber.

Should be a blazing-hot summer.
