CHART STORY:
MORE  IS MORE

Drake is still #1 on the HITS Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) Chart. Shocking, we know. Yes, it’s true; More Life (YMCMB/Republic) pulled in another 226k this week (its second week out), bringing its total to more than 730k.

Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran’s Divide (Asylum), which had the second-biggest first week of the year so far (with 445k+), holds at #2, tacking on nearly 100k to its approximate RTD of 820k.

The only debut to make the Top 15 this week belongs to WMG’s Trey Songz, whose Tremaine The Album earns 63k. Right Hand Music/RCA breakout Khalid does manage to surge back into the Top 15, though, as single “Location” continues to blow up at Urban and Rhythm radio.

Further down on the chart, Republic’s Sing soundtrack leaps #34-21 in tandem with the DVD release. And Keith Urban’s Ripcord (Capitol Nashville), which was discounted to $6.99 at iTunes, jumps #27-24 just days before the 52nd ACM Awards—where he’s nominated for Entertainer, Male Vocalist, Album, Single and Song of the Year.

When it comes to SPS marketshare, UMG leads with 50%. Then there’s WMG at #2 with 32%, followed by SME with 17% and the indies with 1%.

Over on the Album Sales Chart, you’ll find the results of an unprecedented five-way battle for #1. Metallica’s Hardwired…To Self-Destruct (Blackened) is on top with nearly 50k, flying #9-1, thanks in large part to that ticket bundle. Then there’s Disney’s Beauty and the Beast soundtrack (#2, 45k), Drake (#3, 43k), Sheeran (#4, 42k) and Songz (#5, 41.8k).

And one more new release makes the Top 15 on this chart: RaeLynn’s WildHorse (Warner Bros. Nashville), which comes in at #9 with 18k.

The Album Sales marketshare numbers look a little different when compared to the SPS rankings. For this chart, WMG is #1 with 42%, UMG is #2 with 41% and SME is #3 with 15%, while the indies have 2%.

Streeting this week are albums from Columbia’s Bob Dylan, Nelstar’s Nelly Furtado and Reprise’s Mastodon, along with a best-of compilation from Shady/Aftermath’s 50 Cent.
