Zedd and Alessia Cara, who met at the HALO Awards in the fall, have collaborated on “Stay,” a stylistic departure for both artists, released today on Interscope.
After meeting and then rehearsing together, Zedd sent Alessia a demo. They found time to hit the studio and voila, “Stay.”
“I think this song is right in the middle between where Alessia is musically and where I am and that’s what’s so exciting about it,” Zedd explains. “I’ve been trying to knock down barriers around music genres and this is another step for me to walk toward a musical future where I can create any genre I want without people putting me in a box.”
Zedd’s next project is a 4/3 concert at Staples Center to benefit the ACLU that will feature Bebe Rexha, Camila Cabello, Daya, Halsey, Imagine Dragons, Incubus, Machine Gun Kelly, Macklemore, Miguel, Mija, Skrillex and Tinashe.
