MUSIC’S BIGGEST MENDERS

Grammy Week offers plenty of opportunities for bizzers to indulge in frivolity and decadence. But only a few give you the opportunity to do some actual good while you get down with your bad self. TJ Martell’s ninth annual Los Angeles Wine Dinner, Auction & Celebration took place Thursday night (2/9). The ultimate example is the MusiCares Person of the Year Gala—honoring the great Tom Petty—which is set for tonight.

If you’re unfamiliar, the TJ Martell Foundation has raised more than $271 million for leukemia, cancer and AIDS research over the years. Proceeds from Thursday’s event will fund myriad cutting-edge cancer research programs at top hospitals across the country, including Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Click here to find out if tickets are still available.

The MusiCares gala, dinner and concert, which features a stellar lineup of performers, will occur at the Los Angeles Convention Center on 2/10. Proceeds from the 27th annual benefit will provide direct and integral support for MusiCares, which ensures members of the music community have a place to turn in times of financial, medical and personal need. Revered artist/producer T Bone Burnett will serve as musical director.

Who's performing? Hold on to your chair. There's Foo Fighters, Don Henley, Norah Jones, Kings Of Leon, Randy Newman, Stevie Nicks, Lucinda Williams, George Strait, Jackson Browne, Gary Clark Jr., Taj Mahal, the Desert Rose Band’s Chris Hillman and Herb Pedersen, The Bangles, Elle King, The Lumineers, Regina Spektor, The Head and the Heart, The Shelters, Jakob Dylan, Dhani Harrison, Kristen Wiig, and of course, Jeff Lynne. Oh, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will close.
