NEW U.K. SIGNINGS: POLYDOR, SYCO AND INFECTIOUS

There’s been three additions to the rosters of Universal, Sony and BMG in Blighty of late as Hannah Jane Lewis joins Polydor, 5 After Midnight sign to Sony and The Sherlocks join Infectious.

Hannah Jane Lewis, who was raised in NYC, has been a favourite of pop tastemakers Popjustice, who called her latest track “Hide and Go Seek,” “an ambitious and extremely satisfying tune.” Lewis signed to UMG U.K. label Polydor earlier this month under the new presidency of Ben Mortimer and Tom March. She’s managed by Matthew Rumbold at Tileyard Music.

5 After Midnight are a boy band who reached the finals of The X Factor 2016. They’ve signed to Simon Cowell's SYCO under the leadership of new MD Tyler Brown, who said: “It is very rare that a group can sing, dance and perform at a level that 5 After Midnight do. We will be making a record that enables them to fully showcase their huge talent.” Jonathan Shalit at Roar will be taking on management duties with Global Radio boss Ashley Tabor also involved. A debut album is expected this year.

The Sherlocks are a four-piece indie rock band hailing from Sheffield and topped the Official Vinyl Singles chart in January with “Will You Be There.” They’ve had support from BBC Radio 1, played at SXSW and Reading & Leeds Festival last year, and are managed by Michael Crook. Their deal with Korda Marshall's BMG imprint Infectious was inked in December.
