TONY HARLOW TO LEAD WEA CORP.

Warner Music Australasia MD Tony Harlow is relocating to New York to take the reins of WEA Corp., the global artist and label services arm of Warner Music Group. Harlow starts as WEA President on 3/1.

Current WEA President Matt Signore is taking the job of COO at Warner Music Nashville.

Harlow will oversee WEA’s array of services: commercial partnerships, sales, streaming management, analytics and insight, direct-to-fan and merchandising operations, content creation, media operations, legal and business affairs, and finance. He will continue to report to Stu Bergen, WMG’s CEO, International and Global Commercial Services.

Bergen praised Harlow for transforming the company’s business in Australia, New Zealand and Asia since he arrived in 2010.

“As the lines between commercial relationships and consumer-facing marketing continue to converge, and as musical boundaries between nations and cultures continue to dissolve, Tony’s deep experience and progressive viewpoint make him ideally suited to take on this pivotal post,” Bergen said. “Given that Tony has helped break an array of superstars, he’s ideally placed to maximize the global impact of our artists and their music.”

Prior to his WMG job, Harlow was Managing Director, EMI Music Australia, CEO of Richard Branson's V2 label, and head of Universal Music Group’s International Marketing team and merchandise operation Bravado.

A new Managing Director of Warner Music Australasia will be announced in due course.

“Stu and Steve [Cooper] have presented an exciting vision of WEA developing into a global agent of change for our group,” Harlow said. “I’m looking forward to working with the world-class WEA team to ensure that we stay ahead of the curve by combining state-of-the-art infrastructure with a nimble, focused, and comprehensive approach to every aspect of marketing artists and selling music.”
