SPOTTED ON NEW MUSIC FRIDAY PLAYLIST

The last single from Norwegian DJ Alan Walker, “Sing Me to Sleep,” received 99m streams on Spotify and his “Faded,” with more than half a billion streams, was the most popular song this year in Norway, Sweden and Finland. Perhaps that’s why his new track “Alone” (Sony Music Sweden/RCA) is in the lead-off slot on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist.

Elsewhere, we see Childish Gambino’s “California” (Glassnote), The Rolling Stones’ “Hate to See You Go” (Interscope), Tove Lo’s Spotify Studios version of “Cool Girl” (Island), Train’s “Working Girl” (Sunken Forest/Columbia), Sia’s contribution to the film The Eagle Huntress, “Angel By the Wings” (Monkey Puzzle), John Legend’s “What You Do To Me” (Columbia) and his contribution to the Spotify Singles collection, a cover of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On," Hey Violet’s stripped down version of “Guys My Age” (5Mode/Caroline), Run the Jewels’ “Legend Has It” (Run the Jewels/RED) and Kane Brown’s “better Place” (RCA Nashville).
