VEVO EXAMINES "WHY I VOTE"

With the first Presidential debate looming in the near future and a Super Bowl level of interest in the match-up, Vevo has joined the conversation with a thoughtful new original series that gets back to the actual issues, called "Why I Vote."

"We feel it’s imperative to help our viewers understand some of the most significant issues facing our country. One great way: through the lens of their favorite artists," Vevo explained in a statement.

The first clip features Chicago-born, Southside resident Vic Mensa, who shines a light on police brutality, community relations and violence in his hometown. This issue really hits close to home for Vic, who suffered the loss of a close friend after an incident with law enforcement and as a result, gotten involved in local politics to help effect a change. Now he's encouraging others to speak up through their vote.

Future episodes will feature Kesha, T.I., American Authors and more.
