FLIPOVER FRIDAY: ITUNES AND APPLE MUSIC NEW ARRIVALS

Talk about a Friday to flip over. Broken Bow’s Jason Aldean takes the pole position at iTunes among new releases this morning as They Don’t Know tops a collection of rookies that includes Bastille, Wilco and Jack White. Nine of the titles in the Top 10 are newbies; 17 of the Top 20 are fresh out of the oven, too.

On the songs list, Lady Gaga’s “Perfect Illusion” is #1 less than 24 hours after its release and Sia f/ Kendrick Lamar’s “The Greatest” is #3 on its fifth day of release.

The deluxe edition of Bastille’s follow-up to 2013’s Bad Blood, Wild World (Virgin), comes in at #2 followed by The Head and the Heart’s major label debut Signs of Light (Warner Bros.). Cold World (Rise) from metal act Of Mice & Men, Wilco’s Schmilco (dBpm/Anti) and Big Mess from Warner Music Group’s Grouplove occupy slots 5-7.

RCA’s Gavin DeGraw returns with Something Worth Saving at #8 and the second album from funketeers St. Paul and the Broken Bones, Sea of Noise (RECORDS) pops in at #9. The Third Man/Columbia career-encompassing compilation from Jack White, Acoustic Recordings 1998-2016, opens at #10.

The next 10 slots include The Beatles Live at the Hollywood Bowl (Apple/UMG), M.I.A.’s A.I.M. (Interscope) and Nick Cave and the Bad SeedsSkeleton Tree (Bad Seed).

Apple Music continues to be dominated by Travis Scott, though the video chart sees new arrivals from Sia (“The Greatest), The Weeknd (“The Zone”) and the Black Eyed Peas’ all-star-packed remake “#WHEREISTHELOVE.”
