FRANK OCEAN BRINGS A BLONDE TO THE PARTY

In the wake of his video album, Frank Ocean has dropped a "proper" full-length, Blonde (or Blond, as the cover art has it), which has dutifully flown to #1 at iTunes (all tracks are locked for album purchase only, and a store takeover is in effect) while also streaming on Apple Music. The 17-song set features single "Nikes," for which a video appeared this morning.

The list of "contributors" seen in the tweet below is rather prodigious, and includes everyone from Kanye, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams, Andre 3000, Tyler the Creator and Rick Rubin to art-rock and post-punk visionaries Brian Eno, David Bowie and Gang of Four. No one can accuse Ocean of not having an eclectic set of influences. Stay tuned for an evaluation of this hotly anticipated album very soon.
