KATY GETS HER GAMES FACE ON WITH "RISE" VID
Some say the start of the Olympics is the lighting of the torch. But we prefer to think that the true kickoff comes with this lush, cinematic clip from Capitol's Katy Perry. Her "Rise," after all, is the official theme for the Rio Games, which begin tonight.
"Rise" got its official debut on NBC's pre-Olympics special Thursday evening. Capitol subsequently pointed out that Perry had Olympic athletes tweet exclusive footage of the new clip an hour before it was released. The video zoomed to the top of the iTunes video chart as soon as it became available.
The single flew to #1 at iTunes in 56 countries upon release. Perry also performed in a high-profile spot at the Democratic National Convention. Can she take some credit for Hillary's bounce?
