Rapper-producer Daz Dillinger took to Instagram over the weekend to stifle a TMZ story that a spat with BMG over the song “Ambitionz Az a Ridah” had stalled the release of the Tupac Shakur biopic.
“Ain’t nothing derailed about that Tupac, All Eyez On Me, movie. My homeboy L.T. Hutton, Benny Boom, full blast with that motherf*cker. You know what I’m saying? It’s D-a-to-the-z. All Eyez on,” he wrote.
TMZ’s story says BMG contends it is the song's sole owner, which Dillinger has apparently contested; he sued the publisher earlier this years saying he was owed $75k in royalties.
The film’s distributor, Open Road, released the first trailer on 6/16, which would have been 2Pac’s 45th birthday. Contrary to TMZ’s report, the release date of Nov. 11 has never been changed.
