FLIPOVER FRIDAY: iTUNES AND NEW MUSIC NOTES

This week’s refreshment of the iTunes album chart is paced by the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ debuting The Getaway, as expected. The L.A. veterans’ Danger Mouse-produced set is one of seven newcomers on the leaderboard as of Friday morning, with Mumford & Sons’ world-music-leaning Johannesburg (Glassnote) and rapper YG’s Still Brazy (Def Jam) next in the queue.

Typically, this Friday reshuffling unseats all but the biggest hits, at least temporarily, and the pattern holds, with Hamilton, Beyoncé and Drake showing their strength by withstanding the barrage.

The singles Top 10, by contrast, looks much like it did yesterday—and like last Friday, for that matter—as the usual suspects keep on keepin’ on.
