Our previously published rumor that L. Londell McMillan and Charles Koppelman will be working closely with the Prince estate has been confirmed by McMillan's own outlet, The Source.
Though he had an on-again, off-again professional relationship with Prince, McMillan served as the musical trailblazer’s attorney and knew him for some 25 years. Koppelman first signed the Purple One at EMI for the Emancipation triple album (on the artist’s own NPG imprint) after Prince’s contentious “slave” era with Warner Bros. That relationship was short-lived, lasting for only one record.
McMillan (CEO of The NorthStar Enterprises Worldwide) and Koppelman (head of C.A.K. Entertainment) are pros; nonetheless, some observers believe the relationship will be short-lived.
