MARKETER MATHEWSON EARNS VP STRIPES AT COLUMBIA

Mike Mathewson’s recent work on campaigns for David Bowie’s Blackstar, Calvin Harris and The Chainsmokers has earned him a promotion to Vice President of Marketing at Columbia Records. Doneen Lombardi, Executive Vice President, Head of Marketing for the label, to whom Mathewson reports, made the announcement.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Mike since he started his career here at Columbia Records; I have watched his tremendous growth as an executive,” Lombardi said. “He is a creative and innovative marketer, an integral part of the newly restructured marketing department.”

Mathewson started at Columbia as an intern in 2006 and has worked in digital and international divisions on campaigns for Pearl Jam, AC/DC, Gossip and others. A Rutgers grad, Mathewson thanked Rob Stringer, Joel Klaiman and Lombardi for the new job then resumed ruing the day the Scarlet Knights joined the Big Ten.
