PAGE SIX ON JANET'S EAR AND iHEART

Tweets From "Longtime Friend

Several days ahead of her scheduled Sat. night performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Vegas, Janet Jackson bowed out, blaming “a recent ear issue.” But Page Six cites a 9/13 tweet from Jackson’s “longtime friend and creative director,” Gil Duldulao that reads: “Ain’t nobody got a ear issue. Lawd.”

Not having been “clued in” beforehand on the official explanation—and apparently unaware that when you tweet something it actually goes out into the world—Duldulao went on: “ . . . that’s [the] dumbest thing I ever heard in my life. A ear problem . . . if there was a issue she wouldn’t be on time hittin them steps. Lol. And sista is hittin them steps and yes on time. Haha,” those “steps” referring to choreography being rehearsed for the superstar’s Unbreakable tour. The tweets were subsequently deleted.

In any event, Jackson was apparently untroubled by ear issues during her Sunday night tour stop in Miami.

The Page Six piece adds a quote from an “industry source”: “Some people don’t like to do those kind of radio shows. It’s mainly to get artists in front of radio promoters. It may not be a big deal to someone like Janet. If [an artist] can get out of it, then they do.”
