INSIDE TUNECORE'S
INDIE ARTIST FORUM

This weekend TuneCore held its Indie Artist Forum at S.I.R. Studios in Hollywood, welcoming subscribed artists and biz insiders to join in on a variety of roundtables, showcases and Q&As.

Speakers included TuneCore CEO Scott Ackerman and Chief Creative Officer Joe Cuello, biz legend Peter Asher, songwriter/artist Bonnie McKee, writer/producer Ricky Reed, Twitter Music head Bob Moczydlosky, A&R Worldwide founder Sat Bisla, label veteran Louie Bandak (Interscope, Capitol), MSCLVR founder Davin Riley, SPIN's Will Cady, songwriters Michael and Lisa Gungor, Trapt frontman Chris Taylor Brown and CoachArt program and fundraising partner Kellen O'Keefe and CoachArt student Valerie Mendez.

TuneCore members Dylan Chambers, Terra Naomi, Jesse Boykins III, Davíd Garza and Caitlin Eadie provided performances.

The artist-friendly event focused on teaching aspiring hit-makers how to navigate the current landscape of the business and how to get new music out there with or without a label, as well as the ins and outs of songwriting, marketing and branding, collaboration, publishing deals and monetizing social media.

As Cuello put it, "TuneCore wants to be the place where you come to learn. We want to teach you how to run your business... We facilitate the distribution of your music and encourage you to monetize services like YouTube."
