iHEART COUNTRY FEST RETURNS TO AUSTIN

The second annual iHeartRadio Country Festival, which went down Saturday night at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, encompassed the entire spectrum of the rapidly expanding genre. The show was livestreamed on Yahoo Live and was broadcast live on iHeartMedia’s Country stations across the U.S.

Taking the stage were Tim McGraw (who celebrated his 48th birthday), Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Brantley Gilbert, Darius Rucker, Little Big Town (pictured), Dierks Bentley, Justin Moore, The Band Perry, Sam Hunt and Tyler Farr, along with co-hosts Jennifer Nettles and Darius Rucker. The event also included special guest appearances by Bobby Bones, Big & Rich, Cody Alan, Craig Robinson and three Deckers: supermodel Brooklyn, Jets receiver Eric and his wife, country singer Jessie James.

Exemplifying country’s rampant eclecticism these days, The Band Perry closed out their set with a cover of Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk!”

NBC will air the iHeartRadio Country Festival on Wednesday, May 27, from 9-11pm ET/PT.
