FADE TO BLACK

Amy Winehouse Documentary Trailer Revealed

Four years after the tragic loss of the soulful and enigmatic powerhouse that was Amy Winehouse, a trailer for the documentary on her life, climb to stardom and death has officially been released.

In an archived interview, the songstress can be heard saying, "I don't think I'm going to be at all famous. I don't think I could handle it. I would probably go mad." Of course, her sophomore release Back to Black was the best-selling album of 2007 in the U.K., moving 1.85m copies over the course of the year. It earned her five Grammy Awards, tying the then record for most wins by a female artist in a single night, and is currently nearing 3x Platinum status in the U.S.

The heart-wrenching documentary, which UMG U.K. chief David Joseph intro'd at Lucian Grainge's annual Grammy showcase this past February, is teased below in the first official trailer.

It's directed by BAFTA-winning director Asif Kapaida (Senna) and is set to hit British theaters 7/3 with a summer stateside release TBA.
