THE SONGS OF OSCAR

Neil Patrick Harris will make jokes about Brian Williams and the Clooneys and plastic surgery; he will also sing and dance in a number referencing all nominated movies (likely penned by Bruce Vilanch). Various glittery stars will galumph through their teleprompter banter. Most of the things that you expected to win will win.

Yep, of all the Academy Awards telecasts that ever were, Sunday night's will definitely be another one. But let's take a look at the nominated songs.

The odds-on favorite, "Glory" from the civil-rights epic Selma, as written and performed by Common and John Legend:

"Lost Stars" from Begin Again, penned by Gregg Alexander and Danielle Brisebois; performed by co-star Adam Levine in the film (Levine and Maroon 5 will perform it on the Oscar telecast):

The poignant "I'm Not Gonna Miss You" co-written by Glen Campbell and Julian Raymond, performed by Campbell in the film Glen Campbell ... I'll Be Me:

The Diane Warren-penned "Grateful," performed by Rita Ora for Beyond the Lights:

And finally an office fave, The LEGO Movie anthem "Everything Is Awesome," written by Shawn Patterson and performed by Tegan and Sara, The Lonely Island and Jo Li:

Hey, you're beautiful, babe. Have your dietician call my dietician and let's set up some lunch.
