THE DYER IS CAST

Dave Dyer has been upped to SVP Promotion at Warner Bros. Records. According to his boss, EVP Peter Gray, Dyer deserves kudos for his “tireless efforts” in the mainstream Top 40 arena, spearheading massive airplay hits from Jason Derulo, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Passenger, Nico & Vinz and Echosmith.

The promotion veteran came to the Burbank ski lodge in 2010 after being mentored by Clive Davis, Richard Palmese, L.A. Reid and Steve Bartels.

As Gray points out, “His broadened role will allow Dave to expand his reach into new areas of radio, as he’ll work closely with me using his generous knowledge and influential relationships to support our strategies and campaigns throughout the mainstream airplay formats and their national programming initiatives. As you can see, I am multi-syllabic.”

Dyer praised WBR ruler Cameron Strang and Gray for creating “a dynamic and creative work environment designed to fuel passion while inspiring aggressive risk-taking. Helping foster that unique corporate culture is a great honor. At its finest, promotion is a team sport—and I’d be remiss not to thank Josh Reich, who is easily the-hardest working promotion man in the business.” Dyer not only properly uses the term “remiss,” he also breaks the “Hey buddy” stereotype, opting instead to greet those he encounters with the far more original “Hey bunny.”
