Record Store Day DVD

MORE RECORD STORE NEWS: Guerilla filmmaker Brendan Toller’s I Need That Record! The Death (or Possible Survival) of the Independent Record Store will come out for a limited run to indie retail on DVD through MVD Visual this Saturday (4/17) to mark Record Store Day. The documentary about record retailing includes interviews with Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore, Fugazi’s Ian MacKaye, Noam Chomsky, Lenny Kaye, Chris Frantz, Glenn Branca and Legs McNeil, among others. The DVD will be widely released later this summer. Toller is currently working on a “collagic film portrait” of ex-HITS Near Truths editor Danny Fields. (4/13p)
