The National on Vevo

LIVE ON VEVO: The National’s concert this Saturday night (5/15) at the Brooklyn Academy of Music can be seen and heard live as the first-ever Vevo event on YouTube here. The concert, presented by Zync from American Express, includes a live webcast directed by acclaimed filmmakers D.A. Pennebaker (Don’t Look Back, Monterey Pop) and Chris Hegedus (Oscar-nominated The War Room) and marks the first time they will direct a live concert webcast. The event will be preceded by a short film from the award-winning filmmakers. The band’s new 4AD album, High Violet, hit the streets Tuesday and will be one of the top debuts next week. All ticket proceeds will benefit Red Hot, the international organization dedicated to fighting AIDS. Go here to see what the band have to say about the upcoming show. (5/12p)
