BigChampage launches Ultimate Chart

CHARTING PRESENT-DAY REALITY: BigChampagne will soon unveil what it call the Ultimate Chart, which rank artists and songs according to a broader number of metrics than the traditional charts of trade rags like this one. Actual sales will still be a critical ingredient, but BigChampagne is also blending components like radio airplay, video and audio streaming and friends on social networks. The first chart to be hatched will be the Ultimate 100, which theoretically offers an up-to-date alternative the long-running Hot 100, with an indie-oriented chart to follow. All of this was reported this morning on Digital Music News, which will be a syndication partner for the Ultimate Chart. (7/20a)
