RIAA Targeted

RIAA SHUT DOWN: After winning an injunction against illicit file-sharing site Limewire last week, the RIAA is now dealing with its own blackout. The RIAA.com site was hacked and shut down last Friday (10/30), with clandestine vigilante collective Anonymous claiming responsibility. The site reappeared and remained online over the weekend. The group first announced "Operation Payback" on Thursday, and is now starting its plan to make life very difficult for the label trade group, publishing personal details on RIAA chief Mitch Bainwol and his wife, as well as office and fax numbers, with the aim of disrupting the organization.
