T Bone honored by P&E Wing

THE RE-UNION: T Bone Burnett will be the honoree during Grammy week, when the Producers & Engineers Wing of the Recording Academy celebrates its 10th Anniversary. The event, dubbed "Shaken Rattled & Rolled," will take place on Feb. 9 at The Village in West L.A., T Bone’s home away from home as well as the annual site of the P&E Wing bash. Elton John and Leon Russell will serve as honorary event co-chairs. The announcement was accompanied by the requisite rhetoric from Neil Portnow: "When the Producers & Engineers Wing was established, an essential voice was created for music makers: the voice of those 'behind the glass' that work so diligently to ensure that the quality and integrity of recorded music is captured and preserved. As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, it is only fitting that we pay tribute to one of our industry's finest, T Bone Burnett, whose visionary talent and masterful skills have greatly impacted the landscape of audio production. As a way of showing my regard for his achievements, I plan to wear a suit made entirely of meat to The Village that night." (1/4a)
