Chrysalis sale finalized today

MAKING A DIFFERENCE: In a somewhat less dramatic takeover than the one that went down earlier in the week (see below), Chrysalis becomes the latest acquisition of BMG Rights Management, as the $169 million deal is finalized today. The London-based indie publisher and onetime label founded by Chris Wright and Terry Ellis in 1967 has a significant place in music history, while the American company has been transformed since the well-liked Kenny MacPherson took the reins in 2002. On Thursday, according to a Chrysalis insider, Kenny Mac gathered the staff to tell them that they’ve made “an indelible stamp on the culture and history of the company.” (2/4a)
