Downtown Inks Check Your Pulse

DOWNTOWN CHECKS ITS PULSE: Downtown Music Publishing has signed a joint-venture agreement with Check Your Pulse, the publishing/production company established by Josh Abraham, Scott Cutler and Anne Preven. CYP’s roster of songwriters have co-written chart-topping hits for Katy Perry, Neon Trees, Taio Cruz and Britney Spears. Downtown will provide copyright administration, royalty collection and sync licensing services for the catalog as well as funding to sign emerging and established writers to the venture. In collaboration with CYP, Downtown will increase its West Coast presence to expand creative services for its songwriter roster, including Diplo, Santi White (Santigold) and Andrew Wyatt (Miike Snow), who co-wrote Bruno Mars’ #1 hit single, “Grenade.” (2/7p)
