MiJac Leaving Warner/Chappell

MIJAC SPLITTING WARNER/CHAPPELL: Michael Jackson’s MiJac Publishing, which has been administered by Warner/Chappell, will leave the WMG pubbery to become part of Sony/ATV, the company Jackson’s estate co-owns with Sony and contains the Beatles catalog, according to Showbiz411’s Roger Friedman. MiJac includes not only Jackson’s solo hits, but the songs of Ray Charles, Curtis Mayfield and Sly and the Family Stone, among others. It comes at a strategic time, considering both Warner/Chappell and EMI Music Publishing are in play. (2/16p)
