Grammy Sales Spike Leaders

GRAMMY SALES SPIKES: Even though they took home no awards, Glassnote’s Mumford & Sons were the biggest sales winners to emerge from this year’s Grammy telecast, thanks to their performance of “The Cave” and appearance with Bob Dylan. The London folk phenoms were followed by Lady Antebellum, Eminem, Arcade Fire and Bruno Mars as the Top Five beneficiaries of post-awards show sales spikes, determined by combining the individual increases from the last two week’s sales charts and using the previous week’s sales as a base line. For example, in the pre-Grammy week, Mumford sold approx 25k, so if we assume they would do 25k the week ending with the Sunday of the Grammys and again 25k in the full-week following the Grammys, their increases to aproximately 50k and approximately 133k total 25k plus 108k equals a total of 133k.
