Grammy Camp

HELLO MUDDAH, HELLO FADDAH: Grammy Camp—the Grammy Foundation's music industry camp for U.S. high school students—will be held again this summer in L.A. (July 9-18) and, for the first time, New York as well (Aug. 2-8). Financial assistance is available to qualified applicants. Interested teens can visit www.grammyintheschools.com to apply, but you need to step on it, kids and parents—deadline to apply is March 31. Said Headmaster Neil Portnow: "I would encourage any U.S. high school student interested in exploring a career in the music industry—whether as a performer, a producer, a songwriter, a journalist, an engineer or a promoter—to apply to one or both of our Grammy Camps... Every music person I speak to about Grammy Camp says, 'I wish they had something like this when I was young'; it's simply that impactful a program. And by the way, did you hear that I just got re-upped?" (3/29a)
