BARGAIN HUNTING: Fresh off his $3.3 billion sale of WMG to pal Len Blavatnik, Edgar Bronfman Jr. plunked down nearly $16 million for a 15-room, 6,500 square foot New York City triplex penthouse on Park Ave. that includes five bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms (plus a staff room with private toilet), five fireplaces, two kitchens and one 1,000 square foot terrace that wraps around three sides of the third floor. The price tag comes with an impressive maintenance of $12,251 a month. The digs were sold by financier Gordon Pattee and his wife Dailey Jones, who first put the pad on the market in late 2007 for $36.5 million. Bronfman and his family have been living in London over the past two years. Blavatnik reportedly paid $50 million for Bronfman’s last N.Y.C. residence, a townhouse at 15 E. 64th St., in 2007, about 11 times what Edgar originally spent on the house. (5/10p)
