DiCaprio-Beyonce pairing in A Star Is Born remake

LOVE WITH A PROPER STRANGER: Leonardo DiCaprio may play Beyonce’s lover in Clint Eastwood's remake of A Star is Born, according to Deadline Hollywood. Nikki Finke writes that Eastwood has been trying to convince DiCaprio to take the male lead alongside Beyonce, updating the Kris Kristofferson-Barbra Streisand pairing in the 1976 version. Before Leo, Will Smith was reportedly in the running for the role. There were two earlier versions of A Star Is Born: one with Judy Garland and James Mason in 1954, the other starring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March in 1937. (6/29a)
