Van Halen announces tour

RERUNNIN’ WITH THE DEVIL: The détente between Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth continues, as the Van Halen team yesterday announced a 2012 tour by way of a video on YouTube. According to the clip, tickets for their first dates go on sale Jan. 10. The Van Halen News Desk reported that the footage was shot at the Roxy while the group filmed a video for a new song from VH’s Ross Hogarth-produced album, the band’s first for Interscope. While nothing has been confirmed as to a release date, a new graphic makes it clear that something will hit on “2.7.12.” Hey, that’s the Tuesday of Grammy week. Hmm, could Van Halen be that reunited legendary band slated to perform on the Grammys telecast teased in a press release from the Recording Academy a couple of months ago? By the way, the upcoming LP will be the band’s first with singer Roth since the release of 1984 on Dec. 31, 1983. (12/27a)
