25-cent price war facts

NO QUARTER: Speaking of the album chart, the price war initiated when Amazon MP3 countered Google Music’s 25-cent album promotion with one of its own two weeks ago resulted in sizable boosts for Now 41, Lil Wayne, Drake, Coldplay and Lady Antebellum last week and Guns N’ Roses this week. There were no Sony Music or WMG titles in either promotion; that’s because, unlike the other majors, Sony acts as its own reseller and sets its own prices, while Warner has yet to make a deal with Google Music.
