Rednecks for Romney-Ryan

“FREE BIRD” FOR ROMNEY: Hollywood may love the Democrats, but Nashville still turns out for the GOP, the N.Y. Daily News points out. A bunch of country stars have thrown down for the Republican National Convention. Rodney Atkins, who sings the Romney campaign favorite “It’s America,” headlined a kick-off event at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg Sunday night. Lynyrd Skynyrd were also slated to play Sunday night, but Tropical Storm Isaac washed out those plans. Another Isaac-related casualty was the country quartet the Oak Ridge Boys, who were supposed to sing the national anthem at the convention’s opening before the storm reshuffled events. The Zac Brown Band will be playing the American Petroleum Institute-hosted “Fueling the Future” party at the Port of Tampa following Mitt Romney’s speech. And Kid Rock, author of the Romney rally standard “Born Free,” will play a private show for GOP bigwigs this week. Bob made an onstage appearance with Paul Ryan at a Michigan rally Friday night.
