Glee, Grease, Glease and Geese

GLEEKS, GREASE, GLEE, GLEASE AND SO ON: A '70s musical about the '50s is still way hot in 2012, judging by the preponderance of Grease in the pop bloodstream just now. The cast of Glee takes on the show's beloved tunes in two episodes, one airing tonight and the other on 11/15, and has brought those TV-coiffed renditions to market in the form of the freshly released collection Glease. Meanwhile, the 1978 movie version's two stars, John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, have reunited for a holiday set, This Christmas, due out from UMe on 11/13. The yuletide collection, featuring a slew of holly-jolly perennials and guest stars including Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett and James Taylor, benefits two worthy causes: The Jett Travolta Foundation and The Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Melbourne, Australia. In a related story, you know that pomade you were using for your '50s party hairdo? We kind of accidentally put it on our sandwich. (11/8p)
