Tegan and Sara, Machine Gun Kelly hosting mtvU Woodie Awards

WOKE UP WITH A WOODIE: Tegan and Sara and Machine Gun Kelly will co-host the 2013 mtvU Woodie Awards next Thursday (3/14) in Austin during SXSW. Said the Quin twins, saying the same thing at the same time, like twins often do: "This will be our first time at the mtvU Woodie Awards, so we couldn't be more excited to be making our debut as co-hosts and nominees for the Tag Team Woodie for our song 'Body Work' with Morgan Page! Wow! It's a good thing they got Machine Gun Kelly to step in as our tri-host (?) because no one else would be able to get a word in edgewise. See you in Austin!" No shrinking violet, Machine Gun Kelly added: “I think the first thing we all are thinking is, ‘Wow, I can't believe MTV trusted MGK to actually co-host something like this’ and then the second thought is, ‘f*ck yeah MTV for trusting MGK to co-host something like this!!!’ The only thing I've ever hosted was parties so it looks like this year will have to be a party! AND we're nominated this year for the biggest award, there is a lot to be excited about. Lace up Woodies!” Among the acts performing during the show or at the all-day mtvU Woodie Awards Festival leading up to it are Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Twenty One Pilots, Alt-J, Jake Bugg, HAIM and Timeflies.
