Plain White T’s VEVO premiere

CAUTIONARY TALE: VEVO has just premiered the cleverly conceived photo-collage clip for the title song of the Plain White T’s’ four-track Should’ve Gone to Bed EP, a preview of the quintet’s fourth album for Hollywood Records, due this fall. The song, penned and sung by bandleader Tim Higgenson, recounts what a treacherous and retrospectively humiliating combination too many drinks, a smartphone and an empty bed can be in the aftermath of “striking out again.” Against his better judgment, the song’s narrator dials his ex’s number. “Here I go missing you again,” goes the chorus. “God only knows what I said/I should’ve just gone to bed.” Reminds us of that cringe-inducing scene from Swingers.
