Pearson NARM suite roundup

SHAKE YOUR (RE)TAIL FEATHER: Wednesday night, the suites at NARM’s Music Biz 2013 confab were once again over capacity for music performances. The UMGD slate included a spirited acoustic set from Vanguard (through Caroline) singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson and a full band set from Republic newcomers Baby Bee. The Sony suite was next up, with Wind-up’s The Griswolds and a soulful turn by RCA’s Marsha Ambrosius. But the buzz event of the evening was the late-night album-listening party for Columbia’s Daft Punk. The NARM crowd jammed the suite--and surrendered their cell phones--to hear one of the most anticipated releases of the year. The dancing crowd was obviously not disappointed, though the sight of HITS retail guru Mark Pearson trying to remember how to boogaloo traumatized several in attendance. (5/9p)
