B'way grosses

BROADWAY THE HITS WAY: It's the last set of pre-Tony Awards Broadway grosses—next week's numbers will undoubtedly reflect the six trophies awarded to Best Musical Kinky Boots, the four to Best Musical Revival Pippin and the rest.

The Lion King $1.86m
Wicked $1.77m
The Book of Mormon $1.72m
Kinky Boots $1.41m
Motown: The Musical $1.39m
Lucky Guy $1.36m
Matilda $1.13m
Spider-Man $1.03m
Phantom of the Opera $1.01m
Pippin $931k

Several musicals posted nice gains over last week; Kinky was up $71k, Motown rose $40k and Pippin bounced 42k. And to stave off post-Tonys depression, we're singing the week's biggest pop hits in the style of Ethel Merman. (6/10p)
