iTUNES CHARTS: Hip-hop rules on the first changeover Tuesday of summer, with the debuting Wale (not the adorable animated sci-fi robot) on the top perch, followed by holdovers Kanye West and J. Cole, who’ll be #1 and #2 when the HITS Top 50 album sales chart goes final in a few hours (which is where they’re sitting right now). The rap stranglehold extends to the #4 slot on the iTunes chart, which is currently occupied by Mac Miller. Christian metal also shows up big courtesy of August Burns Red and Skillet (in two versions), while secular metal is also represented Attila. These genre gatherings make Daft Punk the odd robots out, while that appearance on the finale of The Voice continues to pay dividends to the reactivated OneRepublic. The top six entries on the singles chart are all smashes, but there’s some movement immediately below, as Bruno Mars uncorks another one, Fall Out Boy continue their climb back to relevance, Selena Gomez shows she’s all grown up and Hunter Hayes makes a move off the release of the deluxe version of his 2011 debut album.
