Rosanne Cash buzz

CASH’S CACHE: On the subject of prestige artists signed to CMG, Rosanne Cash’s brand new album The River & the Thread on Blue Note, an ode to the South from one of our most consistently captivating singer/songwriters, is connecting across the board. Cash's release week is book-ended by two perfectly timed record-biz rarities: a New York Times Magazine feature on one end and a CBS Sunday Morning piece on the other, with a profile by Anthony Mason slated to run this coming weekend, just a few hours before the Brady-Manning Bowl (aka the AFC Conference Final) on the same network. In between, Cash will visit Imus on Wednesday and Letterman on Thursday, with Katie Couric set for next week. She’s also receiving a superfecta of NPR love (Morning Edition, Fresh Air, First Listen, World Café) and a massive amount of attention from the press, with many saying it's the album of her career and an early candidate for Album of the Year.
