ON YOUR MARK: Mark Robinson has joined BMG Chrysalis U.S. as SVP and General Counsel, reporting directly to creative and marketing chief Laurent Hubert. The New York-based Robinson comes to BMG from a 10-year run as VP/Sr. Counsel for Warner Music, following stints at E1/Koch Entertainment and Walter Yetnikoff's Velvel Music Group. Hubert praised the new hire for his "wealth of experience, strong relationships and deep understanding of the complexities in the music business." Robinson also laid it on thick, positing that "BMG embodies a rare blend of entrepreneurial spirit and independent label sensibility, along with a well-respected, dynamic and experienced team. For me, that's the ideal combination." The two then engaged in a friendly but spirited snowball fight. (2/5a)
