U.S. X Factor

BUH-BYE: After three seasons FOX has canceled the U.S. version of The X Factor, it was announced today. Creator/host Simon Cowell will return to the music competition series' U.K. version. "I've had a fantastic time over the past 12 years, both on The X Factor and American Idol," said Cowell in a statement, adding, "I have always had an incredible welcome from the American public (most of the time)." In fact, after Cowell's promises of ratings domination, the show has been hobbled by ratings that ranged from initially disappointing to finally disastrous. (2/7p)
