CASEY KASEM, the legendary broadcaster whose storytelling was as integral to the chart-countdown institution American Top 40 as the songs themselves, died in Gig Harbor, WA, on Sunday after a long illness. He was 82. His AT40 successor, Ryan Seacrest, will host a special on-air and online tribute to the broadcasting icon on 6/21 and 6/22, revisiting the highlights of an extraordinary career. We remember Casey in our lead story, here. (6/16a)
