Katy Perry Metamorphosis Music/Ferras signing

PUTTING THE PEDAL TO THE META: Pop princess Katy Perry has teamed up with her label Capitol Records in the launch of a new joint venture label, Metamorphosis Music. She met her first signing, Ferras, back in 2007 when they were both newly signed Capitol artists. The Jordan-born Ferras' debut EP, which dropped yesterday on iTunes, features "a darkly tinted soul-pop sound," it says here. America's favorite 'Birthday' singer, who's featured on the closing "Legends Never Die," will be taking her favorite rookie on her tour's North American stretch, starting this Sunday. (6/18a)
