Warby Parker Presents Beck Song Reader

BECK'S LATEST SPECTACLE(S): Beck is following up his critical and commercial success Morning Phase with an unconventional labor of love. He's recorded 20 songs from his sheet-music collection Song Reader, and Capitol will release the resulting album, bearing the title Warby Parker Presents Beck Song Reader, on 7/29. Becktakes the lead vocal on just one of the songs, "Heaven's Ladder"; the rest are performed by the likes of Jack White, Jack Black, Norah Jones, Jarvis Cocker, Fun., David Johansen, and Jeff Tweedy. The release (co-produced by the author and music supe Randall Poster) coincides with the debut of the Beck-created " black cherry" Carmichael glasses frames by Warby Parker, the album's sponsor. Warby and the participating artists are donating proceeds to 826 National, a nonprofit that helps students ages 6-18 with creative and expository writing nationwide.
