New in Vibe

BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED: The two debuts in our Vibe-Raters roundup of buzzing and breaking artists this week are both success stories for Peter Gray's on-fire Warner Bros. promo team. SoCal sibs Echosmith attest to the power of artist development, exploding at Pop and Hot AC radio with "Cool Kids" after being nurtured organically at Non-Comm and Triple A. The MTV "Artist to Watch" recipients have enjoyed more than 2.5m video views, 1.5m of them in the past six weeks, and have sold more than 150k tracks. The Portland-based Alt troupe Priory, meanwhile, was #1 Most Added at Modern Rock in its first week with the youth anthem "Weekend," and Top 30 with huge gains in its second. A lyric video (the official version is in production now) garnered 50k views in two weeks. The band, managed by Gary Gersh's TAO, is prepping its full-length now. See the whole batch of Vibers here.
